Learners develop introductory skills for use of the electronic health record (EHR). Explores the impact of computers inhealthcare, computer terminology, file management, and common software applications. Emphasizes data structure, data and vocabulary standards, and database models in relation to the EHR. Includes the use of public healthcare databases and an exposure to administrative and clinical information systems in healthcare.
