This course introduces students to the concepts of BusinessIntelligence (BI) with an emphasis on report development. Beginning with an overview of basic business practices, students develop an appreciation for the importance of good business decision-making strategies - and the information systemsthat can impact those strategies. As business intelligence concepts (report-writing, knowledge management, data warehouse, data mining, Olap) are investigated, students apply those concepts through hands-on activities with one or more industry-standard BI/reporting tools (SQL Server Reporting Toolsand/or Crystal Reports).
